Do you consider yourself a witchy sort but when it comes to magic you get kinda lost? If so, you’re not alone! Practicing “magic” or “manifesting” with the Moon phases if you’re a Law of Attraction lover doesn’t have to be complicated or hard and you don’t need a bajillion herbs or even experience – all you need is your will to create change and some divine timing!
The “will” part is up to you, but I can help with the timing. When you time your manifesting with the Moon cycles, seriously exciting things can happen, and you’ll get to feel more in tune with the universe at the very least!
When the Moon is new, it’s yet to be born in the sky. We’re at the beginning of the lunar cycle, so the most natural magic to work is to bring in new stuff! Whether that’s a new job opportunity, a date or some extra cash, the New Moon is a perfect time to list down all that you would like to see shiny and new.
Set intentions. Write a list of what you want and why, then read it aloud, light it on a candle flame (carefully), throw it into running water or bury it outside – whatever feels most fitting for you.
As the Moon begins to grow in size, so should your intentions! To make sure you see results, choose just one thing to focus on. Write it down somewhere you’ll see it, like on your fridge or your mirror and read it aloud daily.
Reading your one chosen intention aloud everyday will encourage you to start working it at it – don’t forget that the Moon alone isn’t enough to bring in what you want, you have to do your part too! Make sure you’re taking regular action towards your goals to help the magic along.
The Moon is now at the halfway point and the Sun and Moon are forming a 90° square to each other, which in astrology, brings some tension to the table. Use this tension to your advantage by looking at what might be blocking you from manifesting your desires.
Do some journaling about your goal! If you have some subconscious blocks, like perhaps feeling that you don’t deserve the thing you’re manifesting, try working through this by writing to allow the abundance to flow in unchecked.
This is the last few days before the Full Moon, so things are starting to hot up! This is a time of sizzling potential energy and should be a time when things feel like they’re starting to align for you.
Take one BIG action towards your goals to signal to the universe that you’re still in it to win it! This should be something a little outside of your comfort zone, like asking out that hot co-worker, planning a trip, applying for that job you don’t think you’re good enough for or taking the plunge on that course you’ve had your eye on – anything that makes you go “eek!” but gets you a little closer to your goal.
The Full Moon is the time that the Sun shines his light directly onto the Moon’s surface, lighting her up in a celebration of divine opposites! This is a potent time for magic, in particular, for feeling your feminine power – the power of creation.
Dance, sing, gaze at the Moon. Do something that makes you feel magical and free. Look back over the last couple of weeks and note how far you’ve come in your goals. Give thanks for this progress so far – you probably have some way to go, but if you’ve put in the effort, you should be seeing some results by now – let the Moon know that you appreciate her assistance in this matter.
Waning Gibbous (or Disseminating Moon)
As the Moon starts to wane, some things that aren’t serving us will begin to wane with her. Take this time to look at what in your life could do with being left behind – any attitudes, beliefs, habits or even material circumstances. What do you want out of your life now so that you can continue to grow in the direction you wish?
Meditation is the best thing to do now. Either take some time to focus on your breath and clear your mind so that important details come to light or visualise what you want to leave behind and what you desire your life to look like.
During the Waning Gibbous phase, was there anything that came up for you as a negative? Some belief or habit or circumstance that you’d like left behind? If so, now’s the time to take action to eliminate it from your life.
Again, take some action towards removing this block or obstacle. Whether that’s having a clear out of your home, quitting a bad habit or adjusting your behaviour in some way – do something that signals to the universe that you’re done with this negativity and you want it out!
Waning Crescent (or Balsamic Moon)
We’re almost at the New Moon again and ready to start a new cycle once more. Think about the previous few weeks and your progress – what have you brought in? What have you let go of? What needs more work?
If you’ve still got a list of wishes or intentions pinned to your fridge, take them down now, take stock of whether or not you achieved them and why, then burn, bury or throw them into water – anything left behind now is just going to become stagnant so get ready to begin a new chapter. Any goals you aren’t done with can be adjusted and set as a new improved intention at the next New Moon.

Speak to one of our expert psychic readers today to find out what the planets and stars hold in store for you this Autumn!
Venus Retrograde is happening from 6th October to 15th November and within this time we’ve got a lot of lessons to learn about love, in particular, the love we have for ourselves! This may manifest in some uncomfortable relationship issues, but this is just Venus trying to get you to see a better way of relating to yourself and others.
So, what’s in store for us during this Venus Retrograde season?
A New Grasp on Self-Love during Venus Retrograde
There’s a common misconception that self-love looks like bubble baths and getting your hair done, but it’s so much more than that and Venus is gonna try and show us!
Self-love is more about knowing who you are and where you’ve come from and allowing yourself to make mistakes along the way.
So often, we beat ourselves up for not being everything we want to be or not being good at the things we try so hard to achieve, but we forget that we’re only human, just like everyone else!
If one of your friends or family were trying their best at something, you wouldn’t keep on at them telling them they weren’t good enough, would you? So why do it to yourself?!
Venus Retrograde Tip:
By all means take a bubble bath and get your hair done – that stuff feels good! But also take some time out to make a list of all the things that make you awesome. If you make a mistake during Venus Retrograde, try and treat yourself with the same patience you would give someone else.
Shiny New Boundaries
Venus Retrograde will be trying to teach us to put ourselves first. If you’re the kind of person that attends to everyone’s needs before your own, you’ll no doubt feel this one quite strongly! Venus might throw extra responsibilities your way, pushing you to your limit of how much you will do for others – if you even have a limit?!
If this is the case and you find yourself swamped in other people’s expectations, just take a step back and think about your own needs as a priority that is equal if not more important than everything else.
Ask yourself how much you can realistically take on? And whether or not you could turn some other stuff down if you need to?
Venus Retrograde will be trying to show us how to establish better boundaries and not let other people disrespect those boundaries – whether that’s by expecting you to do something for them or treating you badly. A lot of us assume that having healthy boundaries and self-love is selfish, and in a way, it is, but only when we’ve filled up our own cup can we pour for others!
Venus Retrograde Tip:
Try to write down some personal boundaries for yourself about the way you want to be treated. These can be as simple as: “I will not accept phone calls after 9pm” or “if someone is rude to me I will walk away” then recognise when people are taking advantage or expecting too much from you. Practice saying no in a mirror if you have to!
While Venus Retrograde might throw some relationship curveballs in your path, if you can master these two tips: self-love and healthy boundaries, you’ll find yourself coming out the other end of this retrograde period feeling empowered and loved – by yourself – and that’s the most important kind of love.

Speak to one of our expert psychic readers today to find out what the planets and stars hold in store for you this Autumn!
The Autumn Equinox falls on the weekend of 22nd/23rd September. This is the time of year where the days and nights are of equal length, moving us into the darker half of the year, but also celebrating the abundance of Harvest. While we’re not so reliant on harvesting crops nowadays, paying attention to the changing seasons is a great way to access your spiritual side and supercharge your connection to the earth. So, to celebrate, here are some easy rituals you can do to mark this Autumn Equinox!
Feast with Family
A ritual doesn’t have to be a formal affair, it can be as simple as getting your friends and family together for a big feast or even going out for dinner and a dance. What matters is your intention. Plan something where you can share the love and joy with those around you. With Mercury conjunct the Sun for this Equinox, you’ll find yourself craving connections, and what better way to do that than over a glass of wine and a good meal!
Meditate on Your Dreams
When the seasons change like this, the veil between the world of material and spirit are thin, meaning you can tap into some great magic! During this Equinox, the Moon will be in Pisces, giving us even more connection to the realm of subconscious and dreams, so carve out some time for a spot of meditation, even a guided meditation on YouTube can bring all sorts of lovely messages from within. This is a great time for connecting with your Higher Self and accessing some spiritual TLC, getting you ready to delve into the darker seasons feeling refreshed and ready in body mind and soul.
Autumn Healing and Clearing
Since the Equinox marks the end of Virgo season and the beginning of Libra season, there’s an emphasis on health and balance, making it a great time to tidy your home and get organised. In the nature of Feng Shui, clear all the entrances to your home to let the new seasonal energies flow and to welcome in even more abundance – if you’ve got clutter and dust all around your front door, how do you expect good opportunities to come-a-knocking? Having a good autumn clean will also make you feel fresh and balanced, ready to cosy on down for autumn.
Take a Nap!
Yes that’s right, a nap can be a ritual if you intend it to be! Set aside an hour to just relax and snooze as the longer nights of autumn will have us feeling more tired than usual and the demands of modern life often mean we can’t pay heed to our natural seasonal urges for extra sleep! To add extra Equinox oomph to it, set the intention to receive a message from your Higher Self in a dream, then when you wake up, write it down and try and work out what it means.
Back in ancient times, people would celebrate their bountiful Harvest by giving thanks in some way so why not do the same by writing down a list of 20 things in your life you’re grateful for. It’s been a tough old year, particularly with all those pesky retrogrades, but when we look closely, we can usually find a few people, experiences and things that bring us joy. Plus, the more we practice gratitude, the more we seem to receive. In the nature of the Law of Attraction, like attracts like, so positivity and focussing on the abundance we do have in our lives will bring in more of the same – and who can complain about that?!
Happy Equinox my lovelies!

Speak to one of our expert psychic readers today to find out what the planets and stars hold in store for you this Autumn Equinox!
Venus has just moved into Libra, one of the two signs she rules over, so to celebrate this lovely romantic shift let’s take a little look at how our Venus signs affect how people see us and what they find hottest about us – oooh!
For this, you might need to check what sign your Venus is in, rather than your Sun sign. You can do that very easily here – just enter your birth details, scroll down to the chart, find Venus, and off you go!
Venus in Aries
You’re passionate about life and love trying new things – trips to a theme park, go-kart racing or to try the latest ice cream parlour that’s opened up in town – hanging out with you is always a fun and energetic experience, if sometimes a little competitive, making you someone that plenty of people want to date long-term!
However, not everyone can keep up! Most of your enthusiasm tends to go into the chase of new romance, and once you’ve got it you can lose interest, which only makes them want you more! The special someone who eventually wins your heart will have to be just as exciting, active and full of life as you, but when they do win you over, they’ll find that you’re actually a big romantic softie at heart and you’ve just been waiting for the right person to dedicate your generous and passionate heart to.
Venus in Taurus
Appearances mean a lot to Venus in Taurus – their own and the people they’re dating, so if your Venus is here, you likely take great pride in your presentation and expect others to do the same – no scruffiness welcome here! You carry yourself with poise and grace, and this, coupled with your natural attractiveness, no doubt wins you many admirers!
But it’s not all surface level stuff with Venus in Taurus, and those who stick around long enough to see beyond the impeccable style and sweet persona will find a dependable and loyal companion capable of huge generosity, an indulgent nature when it comes to food, drink and affection, plus plenty of sensuality behind closed doors!
Venus in Gemini
Talking to a Venus in Gemini is always an interesting affair! You’re a keen learner and you absorb information like a sponge, ready to retell it in fascinating and inspiring ways, and you’re also a master flirt, making you the life and soul of a party. People are attracted to your intelligence and wit, and you have a fun and light-hearted approach to the world, making you a charming and lively date – there’s never an awkward pause with you!
Underneath this bubbly and bright demeanour is someone who is really seeking love, but just very good at hiding it under a cheery and carefree persona, but the lucky person that manages to hold a Venus in Gemini’s attentions for long enough will find a sweet-natured and loyal soul who will always be at their side cheering them on with a smile and a motivational quote or two!
Venus in Cancer
At first you may seem a little shy, taking a while to come out of your shell and get to know someone, yet you know yourself ever so well. This gives you a confident yet quiet poise that select people will think is just fascinating. Female Venus in Cancers tend to have a very feminine ‘girl next door’ quality that masculine types will desire to take care of, and male Venus in Cancers are often your typical nice guy, attracting other well-meaning people who want a traditional fairy-tale love story.
When in love, you’ll happily give your all to someone and will support and nurture them so they feel the safety that you also yearn for. Since you’re so intuitive, your gentle demeanour can confuse those who think they can take advantage – but you can smell someone messing with you a mile off! While your sense of self-protection is strong, beneath your shell you’re a warm-hearted and sensitive soul with a desire to look after those you love and a fantastic sense of humour too!
Venus in Leo
You want to be wined and dined, brought flowers and told you’re beautiful, and why shouldn’t you? You are beautiful indeed! You take care of your appearance, are confident in yourself, and no doubt have an admirable mane of hair that you take great pride in. While you expect lavish acts of romance and chivalry, you’re more than happy to return the favour and love planning surprises, vacations or extravagant gifts that your loved one can’t help but be excited by.
Once you’ve been suitably pinned down by a suitor, you like things done your way, but you do it with a kind heart and your loyalty is perhaps the strongest of all signs. You’ll go to the ends of the earth for the one you love and do it with an abundance of affection – so long as they play their part too!
Venus in Virgo
You take great care of yourself, in body mind and spirit, and because of that you know yourself very well and are a great conversationalist. Even shy Venus in Virgos tend to know more about the world than they let on, and the whole “Virgin” association with this sign is less to do with naivety, and more to do with your modest demeanour and easy approach to the truth, in all its forms. Because of this, you tend to attract those who’ve been hurt before and need someone to trust – in you they will find exactly that.
While a Venus in Virgo is cautious to give their heart away, when they do, it will be with huge dedication and devotion to their partner. You can be sweet or strong, active or passive, thinking and feeling – whenever the need arises, making you an irresistible paradox with far more personal power than you let on.
Venus in Libra
You have impeccable manners and are well-liked by most – you’re the kind that can be confidently shown off to the parents and win over everyone with your wit and charm. You take a lot of care in your appearance and even if you don’t consider yourself conventionally beautiful you tend to attract many potential lovers who find you incredibly alluring.
Underneath this near-on perfect exterior is someone who values fairness and equality above all, and you expect your partner to be the same. This love of harmony extends to your aesthetic nature and you are likely to have an artistic streak, enjoying the finer things in life, whether that be a dinner and dancing or watching the sun set over an ocean scene. This makes you an interesting, fair and communicative partner who will always try to bring beauty and grace to their relationships.
Venus in Scorpio
Many of us will know the stereotypical badboy/badgirl that Venus in Scorpio is known for, but you’re not all mystery and sex appeal, as your lovers know all too well. Beneath the attitude and charm or disarming sense of humour lives someone who is deeper than most, with an emotional well that runs far beyond what it appears at the surface.
No matter what the aesthetics, if you’re a Venus in Scorpio, you need to be able to trust someone, and once you do, they’re yours forever. This may come as a surprise to some of your past suitors, who no doubt still pine for your romantic intensity and sizzling personal power, but there’s only one person out there for you, and you don’t give your heart easily!
Venus in Sagittarius
Your fun-loving, carefree and adventurous nature means that regardless of looks, many people are attracted to you, and you’re happy to meet all of them, though not all of them will win your affections long-term. You’re a natural storyteller and can captivate those around you with endless stories, jokes and opinions, but once the evening is over, you’re happy to return to your own comfort zone without the need to oblige anyone too long.
You’re not an easy one to pin down, and often Venus in Sag will marry or partner up later in life, as they have so much to do and see first! However, when you do, you’ll become their best friend as well as their lover and bring a cheery joy to that person’s life, making up for your occasional lack of direction with a warmth that most would delight in.
Venus in Capricorn
You think things through very carefully: in your impeccable dress sense, charming demeanour and the types of people you go for. You like your loves to be in control of their own lives, someone who is dependable – this to you spells stability, which is what you desire most in your relationships. Because of this, you can sometimes start off a little aloof, but once you know that person is worth it, you’ll climb mountains to be with them and show them that you adore them. These high standards will surely have people trying to prove that they’re worthy of your attentions.
A Venus in Capricorn gives out a mature air when it comes to romance, as in, you seem to know what you’re doing, and this can make people feel protected and attracted to your confidence, or better yet, it can win you a partner of equal emotional strength. When in love, you are happy to give all you’ve got and will always work at a relationship and commit tremendous loyalty and dedication.
Venus in Aquarius
A Venus in Aquarius may start off as your friend, then build up to a relationship. If this is you, you like to know a person before you give your heart to them, if only to make sure that you’re truly compatible past the romance and fireworks stage. Connecting intellectually is important to you and you’re a quirky, innovative and progressive thinker with many fascinating and creative ideas that others will love to engage with.
While you may seem a little cool at first, and you fiercely value your independence, when in love, you’ll often find creative and exciting ways to show your beloved how awesome you think they are, and while you’re sometimes a little put off by overly emotional types, you love far more than you let on and there’s never a dull moment when you’re around!
Venus in Pisces
Venus in Pisces is ethereal and empathetic, giving support to those who need it and offering caring and understanding shelter, making everyone feel comfortable and nurtured around you. You may seem a little shy at first, but you have an air of kindness about you that attracts people who perhaps need a little guidance, and you’re all too happy to give it. Your romantic, sensitive and idealistic way helps you to connect spiritually with those around you, attracting other spiritually-minded people to you.
When you love, you love unconditionally, and perhaps sometimes to your detriment, people may take advantage of this. You are easily hurt, but would never hurt others, making you a loyal and sensitive partner that would give the world to see those around them happy. You yearn for a fairy-tale happy ending and many would be lucky to receive your giving and eternal love.
Leave a comment below if any of this resonated with you! But remember, Venus is just one puzzle piece in your birth chart, so if it didn’t seem like you, there’s likely some other parts of your chart that are overshadowing this part of you – we can help you find out what! Speak to one of our expert psychic readers today to find out what the planets and stars hold in store for you.
It’s that time of year again – Mercury Retrograde! From July 26th to August 19th, the planet of thought and communication will be creating a standstill. But before you panic, Mercury Retrograde is not necessarily a bad thing, despite what a lot of stuff online may say, but rather, this can be a great time to focus in on what’s not serving us anymore, with the help of some top tips of course!
Look to the Past
Technically, what’s happening when we have a retrograde, is that the planet in question (Mercury in this case) looks as if it’s moving backwards across the sky. Traditionally, this would have spelled confusion and “backwards” thinking. However, it’s actually a really good time to look backwards in our own lives, to take stock of where we’ve been, so we can better plan where we’re going.
Take it Slow
It pays to slow things down during Mercury Retrograde, not because everything will go wrong if you don’t, but because that way you’ll have chance to notice all the little signs that are desperately trying to show you the way!
Traditionally, Mercury Retrograde is a time when thought and communication can go a bit topsy turvy, so make sure you really think before opening your mouth or making any big decisions. This doesn’t mean you can’t do anything, just be aware that you might change your mind soon after, so think everything through properly before doing or saying anything drastic!
Don’t take it Personally
The same goes for information that you receive from others. If you find yourself on the receiving end of negativity or nitpicking, just assume it’s misdirected and don’t take it personally. The retrograde can actually be a good time to learn about how to thicken your skin and not let your mood or self-worth be dictated by others. Only you get to decide how you feel.
Look Up your Horoscope
Mercury Retrograde affects everyone slightly differently, for example, if you’re a Virgo or a Gemini, you’ll probably have a more intense experience as Mercury is your ruling planet. Check out my weekly horoscopes for more tailored advice or give one of our advisors a call for extra precise info.
Write it down
One way of sorting through potentially confusing thoughts and feelings is to write it all down! Journal it all out and see what comes up for you. Or in the case of overwhelm, create lists so your brain isn’t doing all the work for you.
Focus on the RE- words
Retrograde always reminds me of re- words (RE-trograde – get it?) so focus on words like: reassess, review, rehearse, redo, reinterpret, reveal, revive, recover, repeat, revamp, reawaken, reassure, recharge, reconnect, reincarnate, rekindle. Where can you apply them to your life?
Read the Fine Print
Mercury is very detail orientated so anything retrograde related will be in the small things. This goes for anything official – make sure you’re really clued up as to what you’re doing, as well as for life in general. Keep an eye out for small signs that will point you in the right direction.
Organise and Declutter
Since Mercury is all about the details, it’s time to get real on which of your own details need a bit of a clean-up. Do you need to do some off-season spring cleaning? Has some project sat collecting dust? Do your files need filing and your to-do list tackling? If so, get on it now, you’ll feel so much better for it afterwards!
Open Your Mind
As with all astrological transits, it really does pay to be intuitive, and by that, I mean keep an open mind, pay attention to what’s around you and go into everything you do trusting that you’re always on the right path.
So, it’s not all bad! There’s plenty of opportunity here for productivity and progress, you just have to get into the zone and make the most of a potentially confusing time – if you do, you’ll be well on your way to epic planetary transformations, rather than hiding at home because of the big bad retrograde!

Hi there my lovely Stargazers! This is Ellie Rose, reporting to you from Dharamsala, India. I’ve been here doing your horoscopes, learning about Buddhistmeditation and I’d like to share a little bit of it all with you guys back home!
Astrology from the Mountaintops
So right now, I’m recording your weekly horoscopes from the beautiful woods and mountains around Dharamsala, which sits in the Himalaya Mountains of North India. You can see where I’m living in my photo below:
The Home of the Dalai Lama
Just up from the city of Dharamsala is the home of the 14th Dalai Lama and a large Tibetan population. Because of this the place has got a very spiritual, Tibetan vibe and many beautiful monasteries.
I was lucky enough to see a teaching from the Dalai Lama here recently, where he spoke about the importance of compassion. How we should practice compassion for every person and creature, but also compassion for ourselves and our own ups and downs, which is something I think we struggle with in the West.
I recommend watching the Martin Scorsese film, Kundun, which is not only a great film, but tells the story of the current Dalai Lama and his incredible journey to find refuge in India. I watched this film at the Tushita Buddhist Meditation Centre here, sat amongst golden statues of the Buddha and beautiful mandala paintings, but even if you’re sat in your living room I highly recommend watching it!
Tibetan Buddhist Meditation
As part of my stay here, I’ve been studying Buddhism and practicing a lot of meditation at the Tushita Centre, and one of my favourite things I’ve learnt here is a practice known as ‘Tonglen’.
This Tibetan meditation technique is so simple and really helps whenever you have a moment of negativity or stress. You can do it at home, at your desk or walking down the road, so it’s perfect for us busy Westerners!
Tonglen Meditation: When you take a breath in, imagine you are breathing in for all the people suffering the same problem as you. Then when you breathe out, imagine you are breathing out to give relief to you all.
It can be as simple as breathing in and thinking: “I understand” and breathing out and thinking “It’s ok”.
At first it won’t seem natural, but when you get into the habit of doing this, you start to do it automatically when feeling a moment of stress or anxiety which helps long-term too. It’s designed to easily build the same compassion for yourself and the world just as the Dalai Lama teaches! Try it out yourself!

Aries is the sign of the warrior, so what better pose to do than the Warrior?! This pose is great for stretching legs, hips and backs as well as boosting energy and self-confidence, so you can go back to your life with your inner strength at its peak, like the warrior you are.
Since Taurus is the sign of the bull, what better pose to do than cat / cow? The steady rhythm of this pose is perfect for grounding and releasing any negative emotions you may have picked up throughout the day with your sensitive nature. Remember to breathe!
Gemini is often overwhelmed by thoughts, so you’ll need a pose that takes all your concentration and helps to clear your mind. The Tree pose is great for focus as well as giving you a little boost of confidence in yourself that you can achieve anything you put your mind to!
A Cancer is a sensitive soul and often gives to others over themselves, so if this is you, a good chest-opening yoga pose will strengthen your heart and stimulate feelings of self-love. Yoga is a great way to take care of yourself so make sure you do this one regularly to avoid feeling burnt out!
A Leo might seem confident and together, but a lot of the time you can actually be very harsh on yourself. The Mountain pose is simple but very powerful and will help you to stand strong in your strengths, find your inner confidence and begin to trust that you have everything you need, regardless of what others think!
It’s quite easy for busy Virgo to get overwhelmed and so instead of giving you a complicated pose that I know you’ll easily master, try a simple Child’s pose and surrender to what will be. Child’s pose is what we use when we take a quick rest in yoga, or when things get hard and we need to go inwards.
Open your heart up with a Bow pose, designed to strengthen your chest and back, as well as softening any negative feelings you may be having about yourself. This pose makes you feel strong while still making use of your gentle yet determined nature. Take it slow though!
If that well-known passion of yours isn’t put to use it can store up in the body as tenseness and negativity, so a light-hearted pose that opens your hips like the Happy Baby is perfect for a Scorpio who could do with a little more joy. Just roll around like a big baby and enjoy the gentle spine massage, there’s nothing more to it!
A Sagittarius is so full of exciting ideas that sometimes they get overwhelmed or don’t end up putting any of it into action, this can cause a dip in your confidence that yoga can help with! This Summer Solstice is on June 21st, the time when the Sun is at its peak. For thousands of years people have worshipped this astrological event, but in a modern world it’s not easy to get to Stonehenge or even find a bonfire to dance around! So here are some small things you can do to mark the occasion and bring in some sunshine to your life.
First, what is the Summer Solstice?
Summer Solstice, or “Midsummer”, is the time when the days are longest, and the sun is at its highest peak in the sky. We’re at the halfway point of the year and after this, the Sun will start to lower, and the days will become shorter. This is a time of celebration and joy, a time to worship the light and fill yourself up ready to welcome in the harvest and the dark time of year.
Organise Your Thoughts
Since we’re halfway through the year, it’s a really good time to write about how far you’ve come and where you’d like to go next. Think of it as a breather before we enter the second half of the year. What goals would you like to accomplish? What are you proud of having achieved so far? Set a timer if it helps and don’t stop to edit, just get all your thoughts down on paper so you’re ready to move forwards.
The days surrounding Summer Solstice have always been known as a good time to collect plants for medicinal or magical use and it’s been said that they will have extra potent powers if collected at this time of year. If you have some nature nearby, why not organise a trip to see what you can find? Wild lavender, mint, garlic, blackcurrants and dandelion can be cooked, put in tea or used in rituals and spells for extra healthy benefits.
Have a Dinner Party
Solstices are a traditional time of celebration and what better way to celebrate than with a big slap up meal with all your friends and family? Serve foods like honey, fresh fish, strawberries and cream – anything summery and indulgent that makes everyone feel filled up and happy. Perhaps get the Pimms out and toast to the summer Sun?
Take a Walk
Since growth is at its peak right now, this is a great time to take a walk and enjoy some of Mother Nature’s gifts. Get out there and enjoy everything summer has to offer, before long it will be harvest time and the plants will start to return to the earth, so take the opportunity while you can.
In Celtic times, the pagan people would light a bonfire to dance around, now nobody’s saying you need a bonfire to do this, but just dancing around your living room, or even better, your garden, will bring in powerful and positive energies for you to take with you into the second half of the year.
Everything around you exists because of the earth providing it to you, so most importantly out of everything at this time of year, we should say thank you. In whatever way you feel comfortable, thank the earth for providing you with shelter, food and light to keep you warm. Write, light a candle, say a prayer, give something back, whatever feels right to you and helps you to remember how beautiful life can be!
So, Happy Solstice, stargazers! I hope you have a wonderful time and remember that Summer is a time to enjoy – so get out there and enjoy it!
Uranus has just moved into Taurus, where it will be until mid-November, which means we have six months to harness this metamorphic energy and become the butterfly we know we deserve to be! This is a time of great change, in so many ways, but we need to be strong and flexible in order to reap the benefits.
So how will Uranus in Taurus affect us? You might experience one, or all of these, the energy will focus on the area of your life that needs the biggest makeover!
1. New Ways of Doing Things
Uranus encourages us to look at how we’re currently doing things and gives us the courage to do them differently as we need. Like a snow-globe, Uranus is here to shake things up and turn them upside down if that’s what will benefit you, but either way, you’ll start to notice a difference.
Over the next few months, you might find yourself trying out new things – whether that’s a new hobby, new recipe, new style, or bigger things, like a new way of thinking, or a different approach to dating.
You’ll no doubt notice changes outside your own life too as politics are rattled, new technologies are invented, and philosophies alter under the pressure of progress. The whole world is starting to shed its old ways to make room for the new.
Don’t be afraid to join in – change is always beneficial in the long run and you should welcome it with open arms to make the most of it.
2. Rebellious Acts of Self-Worth
Uranus in Taurus will change the way we see ourselves and show us what we’re truly made of. In particular, how much we value ourselves will be a big focus.
More people will begin to speak their mind and social media has already begun to shift towards building people up rather than tearing them down.
Ask yourself if you value yourself as much as you should? Are you confident in who you are? Do you bite your tongue when someone upsets you, just to keep the peace, or have you ever thought you weren’t good enough for something, or someone?
We all have our down days, of course, but over the next few months, channel this great energy into believing that you are good enough, the energy of Uranus in Taurus will reward you for it.
3. A Shift in Relationships
Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet of Love, so it makes sense then that Uranus in Taurus would be here to mix things up in the dating department!
If you’re single, are you chasing something or someone that isn’t right for you? Or if you’re in a relationship, are there some patterns that could do with a bit of a shift?
No doubt we’ll see more revolutionary romances. We’ve already had the ground-breaking marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan (the New York Times called it “the dawn of a new era” – now if that’s not Uranus energy I don’t know what is!), and you might notice yourself beginning to follow your own heart, even if that means having to go against everything you’ve been made to believe.
Uranus will break the patterns of old and show you what you need to do to truly enjoy your relationships, all you have to do is pay attention.
4. Changing Wealth
And last but by no means least, our financial situations will be up for judgement! Uranus in Taurus will bring an erratic energy to the economy, our own personal bank accounts, the stock market, even new things like Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will break through into the norm.
In fact, “the norm” will be no longer beneath the dynamic energies of Uranus in Taurus. Everything is up for debate and ready to change. This can be good news, if you take advantage!
If you’ve been having money worries, new opportunities will arise to make that bank balance a little healthier looking, but you might have to start doing things a little differently!
Work hard. Trust that things will settle after some turbulence and put faith in your own ability to earn what you need – Uranus in Taurus will take care of the rest.
So! These might sound too hopeful to believe right now, but the trick is to become aware of the call to change. Uranus in Taurus will shift your life in so many ways, but you have to willing to take the leap!
